Samuel Baggen has released a new development build of Elive, a Debian-based live CD with Enlightenment 17: “The Elive team is proud to announce the release of development version 1.9.51.” What’s new? “Compressed file system – if you have a computer with a tiny hard disk (like Eee PC 2 GB SSD), you can now install Elive using a compressed file system so that the entire system will fit in 1 GB; shared folders implementation with extra fixes and features; no CD required – there is no need to burn the ISO on a CD-ROM anymore, you can easily install or reinstall by simply pointing to the ISO image on the hard drive and reboot; VPN extra support; ‘toram’ – feature fixed; OSS – audio extra support (good for games); Catalan – option from the boot selector fixed; Linux kernel version 2.6.30.” Here is the brief release announcement.
