Bunnykins’ Blog

This is some thing interesting I just learned yesterday and before you laugh at me for not knowing I am new to blogging and this is the first blog I have se up and actually used. I have been on blogs and read them but nothings about it. The only blog I had besides this one was one set up with the blog software for IPB but I did not use it.

I actually got into blogging recently after getting active on twitter and metting a lot of wonderful people. One called geekgirls and she was talking about starting her own blog and site and I was able to be part of it. After she started heer blog I thought I would start my own which would be this one.  The idea was to have a place were I could share the things I enjoy like linux news, anime news, and any random thought that I wanted to share.

Any way while making comments on geekgirls’s network I noticed I had an avatar and always a green dino type thing. I was just thinking it was random and that was the way wordpress worked. When I saw up this site and saw people did not have random avatars I was thinking well maybe geekgirls has some sort of plug in or mod that I do not have.  I did not take much mind to it and just left it at that.

The other day however I noticed some one posted a comment on my blog and had an avatar and I was a bit confused as to how she had an avatar so I asked her and she gave me a link to gravatar, which confused me and left me with more questions so I had went to wordpress and searched for gravatar and could not find any thing so then I told that lady I was still a bit confused. While I waited for a reply I went looking on gravatar’s site and found a blog entry about wordpress buying out gravatar and that pretty much answered my question right there.

Although after I found that I thought hmm I will look on other places of gravatar and see if any thing else is mentioned about word press and they do have a link to a plug in. Personally I think they should put a little note behind that and mention it is no longer needed for newer versions of wordpress as it is built in.
