I am starting to feel I am getting some where although slowly. Over 5000 entries and more added each week. When I started the main goal was to get the list done. Done as in just the title, genre, and description in and after the list was done start adding the data. The list at the time I started was 7000 however that list contained hentai which I later took out do to the reasons I have mentioned in the about of the database. So after the hentai was taken out it did reduce the list down to around 5000. Which is where I am at now.

So now that the list is done I have been adding more info to each anime. This part took a while to get started as I kept changing how I was adding the data and even displaying the data on the page. Now that I have all the kinks worked out I am getting as many done as I can. Up to 15 done so far with the added data.

After this stage is done then I will start adding pages for voice actors and links to the anime they are in. Same with companies and staff. This will added better navigation. I may do this part while doing the other part but need to work out the best way of doing it.

Click here to check it out.

The story was very well done, the graphics and action were also very well done. It actually made me cry, which I like.

It had funny parts as well as some very moving parts. Not going to give to much away as I do not want to spoil any thing for any one that has not seen it yet. It is based on the little mermaid so has some parallels to it but not many. I can probably mention this with out it spoiling it but the parallel is that a fish girl turns into a human. That does not spoil any things as it was mentioned in a few of the ads. Unlike the little mermaid she does not look like a mermaid she looks kind of like a red jelly fish with a human face. I give it a 5 our of 5 stars.

Here is what the dvd has on the back.

This Japanese anime feature from famed filmmaker Hayao Miyazaki follows the adventures of a 5-year-old boy, Sosuke, and his burgeoning friendship with Ponyo, a goldfish princess who desperately wants to become human. After running away from and then being recaptured by her strict father, Ponyo — with some help from Sosuke — becomes more determined than ever to make her dreams come true. But will her wishes throw the entire earth off balance?

She had Haruhi’s picture in her profile. She even had a cute little dance from the show in her profile. I thought it looked pretty cute so I went to go see if I could fine what anime that was from. I eventually did find those images were from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya so I then set out to buy it. I first checked out rightstuff which did have it but they do not accept paypal so asked one of my friends who sells anime and does accept paypal. How ever I did not get this anime from him I did end up getting it from ebay. How ever when I searched for this anime on ebay I must have spelled it incorrectly as I came accross a hentai with a name very close to this one. I was like wait a minute I know this anime can not be a hentai specially if a 10 year old girl told me about it. So I did a quick google search and found the correct spelling of the anime and ended up finding the none hentai on ebay and getting it.

I ended up watching this in only 2 days, well the first season any way. I just could not stop watching it, I enjoyed it very much. It has humour very much like the humour in slayers which in my opinion makes it better. Even though it has humour like that of slayers it is nothing like that anime. Although another interesting thing about comparing it to slayers is there is a part in Melancholy where some one says It is classified and said in the same way that the demon of slayers says it is a secret.

I do not wish to give to much away but it does have a lot of interesting things that happen in it. It has time travel, aliens, androids, girls in bunny suits, people with ESP, and a godess that does not even know she is a godess. Oh and when I first heard about this anime I thought it was one that was made for girls which is called shoujo, how ever I found it not to be shoujo but rather shounen which is for boys. Watching this anime though I feel it is not made for either male or female but both. I mean it does not feel to me it was made exclusively for males as I liked it and I am female, heck and I was told about it from a girl who also likes it. Oh there are a few characters I feel sorry for because haruhi treats them.

Female artists discuss craft in Japan/U.S. museum exhibit’s opening event

Keiko Takemiya, the shōjo and science fiction manga creator of Kaze to Ki no Uta and To Terra (Terra e…), is holding a joint talk with fellow pioneering comic creator Trina Robbins in Kyoto on December 17. The talk will launch the “Comics o Kaku Josei-tachi ~America no Josei Artist-tachi no 100-nen-ten” (She Draws Comics: 100 Years of America’s Women Cartoonists) exhibition at the Kyoto International Manga Museum. Not coincidentally, the museum is affiliated with Kyoto Seika University, where Takemiya heads the first university manga department established in Japan.

Robbins is one of the earliest female creators in the field of underground comics, and she has been drawing comics for the past thirty years. She also wrote the book From Girls to Grrlz : A History of Women’s Comics from Teens to Zines and adapted the B.B Explosion, From Far Away, and Godchild manga into English for Viz Media. Takemiya and Robbins will discuss how the 1970s were a turning point not only in their own personal work, but for Japanese and American comics by female artists in general.

The exhibition, which is co-sponsored by the Josei Manga Kenkyū Project (Women’s Manga Research Project), will run at the museum until February 28. As the curator, Robbins originally put together the exhibition in Germany in 2001 and then took it to the Museum of Comic and Cartoon Art in New York City in 2006.

The talk is tied to “Comics Worlds and the World of Comics: Scholarship on a Global Scale,” the first international conference by Kyoto Seika University’s International Manga Research Center. The conference includes manga scholars, translators, and creators such as Robbins and Christina Plaka.

If the anime series remains in that timeslot in the following weeks, this will be Cartoon Network’s first regular scheduling of anime in early Saturday evenings since shortly after Toonami ended last year. Since last year, Cartoon Network has scheduled a rotating slate of animated and live-action television series and films in early Saturday evenings.

The Cartoon Network’s schedule currently lists a new episode of Bakugan in the same 7:00 p.m. timeslot on November 14, although the schedule is subject to change as late as a day before broadcast.

Seraphim Studios produces English soundtrack for Japanese-animated anthology

The third-party SXAniMedia blog reports and ANN has confirmed that Seraphim Studios, the company formed from the assets of A.D. Vision’s Amusement Park Media dubbing outfit, is producing the English-language soundtrack for the Japanese-animated Halo Legends anthology. Halo Legends is a collection of seven short films based on Microsoft Game Studios’ Halo science-fiction game franchise.

The BONES, Casio Entertainment, Production I.G, Studio 4°C, and Toei Animation anime studios are animating these side stories about the war between humans and the alien Covenant. The staff includes creative supervisors Shinji Aramaki (Appleseed) and Mamoru Oshii (Ghost in the Shell); directors Aramaki (Appleseed), Hideki Futamura (The Animatrix), Daisuke Nishio (Dragon Ball Z), Hiroshi Yamazaki (Karas), Toshiyuki Kanno (Black Lagoon), Koichi Mashimo (Blade of the Immortal) and Koji Sawai (Patlabor); directors/action designers Tomoki Kyoda (Eureka Seven, Evangelion 1.0) and Yasushi Muraki (Macross Plus, Vampire Hunter D); and writer Dai Sato (Cowboy Bebop).

ADV Films founder John Ledford is serving as an executive producer for the English soundtrack. Before the assets of ADV Films were split up earlier this year, the company worked with Warner Home Video on the English dubbing of another high-profile Japanese-animated science-fiction title, Appleseed: Ex Machina.

Microsoft Game Studios previewed the anthology at Comic-Con International in July and again on the Spike TV network in September. The Halo Waypoint entry in Microsoft’s online Xbox Live service will post more previews on Saturday, November 7. Warner Home Video will ship the North American DVD and Blu-ray Disc releases on February 9, 2010.

Yabuki only just ended To Love-Ru -Trouble- in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine on August 31. Many creators, such as Takeshi Obata (Death Note, Bakuman.) and other Shonen Jump artists, usually take one year or longer between the end of one manga and the launch of the next one.

Three new To Love-Ru OVA volumes (pictured at right), for a grand total of six, will begin shipping with the final three manga volumes on Wednesday. Section23 Films just announced in October that Sentai Filmworks licensed the television anime adaptation for release in North America on December 15.

The story centers around a fiercely loyal tiger-striped cat named Tora (literally, “Tiger”) and its human master in historical Japan. So far, the manga has been updated every two to three days, Gentosha Comics, Inc. plans to print compiled volumes. Kuruneko is being adapted into a series of television anime shorts by director Akitaro Daichi (Fruits Basket, Kodomo no Omocha, Now and Then, Here and There).

Computer animated feature film based on Leiji Matsumoto’s series enters theaters this December

After about a year and a half of working on the project, production on the first full CGI anime based on the popular Leiji Matsumoto series Space Battleship Yamato has completed. The project was previously stalled between development and legal issues for more than a decade as companies with a stake in the franchise tangled over who had the right to create the project. A special preview screening will be held a the Tokyo International Forum on November 28, with the official nationwide opening in Japanese theaters scheduled for December 12. The official site for the film is here.

Carrying the subtitle “Fukkatsu-hen” (“Rebirth”), the film takes place 21 years after the first Yamato story and centers around an emigration movement from Earth that starts when a black hole develops near Earth. When the transport fleet is attacked, and the Yamato leads the counterstrike. To make the film, about 130 CGI design staff were brought on to help design ships, explosions, laser beams, and other elements central to the film.

To commemorate the opening of the film, the satellite network Family Gekiba will be broadcasting all three previous Yamato anime series, along with the two previous anime feature films. The network will also be airing an original show that explores the historical ties behind the show, while the History Channel will also air a program focusing on the era that spawned the series.

Yugi Yamada, the creator behind the boys love titles Close the Last Door and Laugh Under the Sun, will be re-starting her manga based on the Shion Miura novel Mahoro Ekimae Tada Benrikan (lit. Tada, the Handyman near Mahoro Station). The story in the novel focuses on the friendship between a repairman named Tada and a long lost friend from his high school days, who end up bonding after both men discover that the other has been through a divorce since they last saw one another.

The manga is scheduled to re-start in the February 2010 issue of Hakusensha’s monthly manga magazine Melody. The magazine is home to another boys love artist who has since crossed over into mainstream manga: Fumi Yoshinaga (Antique Bakery), whose critically acclaimed Ōoku is currently serialized in the magazine. The manga previously appeared in the manga magazine Pianissimo (pictured), which is currently not producing new issues. The February issue of Melody goes on sale on December 28.

According to the anime’s official website, the artist Shinbayagi will draw the manga.

The story is set in the future on a land that, after being scarred by long-lasting wars, has settled into quiet decline. Model and actress Juri Aikawa will play Kanata Kumika, a 15-year-old girl who fulfills her dream of enlisting in the army and joins a unit of five girls who protect a fortress. The girls also play music that reverberate across the skies over towns without people and seas without fish.

So-Ra-No-Wo-To will premiere on TV Tokyo in January as the first release in Anime no Chikara (The Strength of Anime), a joint project of TV Tokyo’s new anime department and Aniplex. Mamoru Kanbe (Elfen Lied, I”s Pure, Denpa teki na Kanojo) is directing the animators at A-1 Pictures. Hiroyuki Yoshino (Macross Frontier, Denpa teki na Kanojo, My-HiME) is supervising the scripts.
Kamiya had announced on his official blog on September 18 that he would no longer play this major role in the television series. Kamiya had played the character of Kogoro — the character Ran’s father and the private investigator who deals with the pint-sized Detective Conan — since the anime launched in 1996.

Update: In related news, Noriko Yume has replaced the original voice actress of the heroine Yuki Kodai, Youko Asagami, in the Uchuu Senkan Yamato Fukkatsu-hen revival of the Space Battleship Yamato space opera franchise. Author and Tokyo Governor Shintaro Ishihara (Season of the Sun) is credited with the story.

Akita Shoten has posted a website with an updated cast list for the anime adaptation of Masahiro Itosugi’s Aki Sora “line-crossing” manga. Shiho Kawaragi and Sayaka Kinoshita will play Aki and Sora respectively, replacing Eri Kitamura and Asami Imai from the drama CD’s cast. Kana Ueda and Tae Okajima will play Nami and Kana, respectively.

He also voiced an exaggerated version of himself in these same anime works, as well as other titles in which he made contributions such as Hayate the Combat Butler. Like the real Nabeshin, the fictional Nabeshin sports a huge afro and his trademark red blazer.

This year’s guests at Pacfic Media Expo include the fashion designer Gashikon of Hangry & Angry, the visual-kei rock band UchuSentai NOIZ, fashion designers Maki and Asuka of Angelic Pretty, and fashion designer Takuya Sawada of Takuya Angel.

Shōgaku Gonensei and Shōgaku Rokunensei (literally, “Elementary Fifth-Grader” and “Elementary Sixth-Grader”) will end during the current school year on February 3 and December 28, respectively, and will be replaced by a new learning manga magazine, tentatively titled Gakumanplus, next spring. ChuChu, a magazine aimed at older elementary school girls and middle school girls, will end with its February issue on December 28. Shogakukan cited the great changes in the needs of readers for its decision to reformat all its Shōjo Comic magazines for their long-term prospects.

Among the manga that Shōgaku Gonensei and Shōgaku Rokunensei serialized were Doraemon, Pokémon, Yu Yabuuchi’s Naisho no Tsubomi “sex education” manga, and Shigeru Mizuki’s “War and Japan” (“Sensō to Nippon”) short story. Chuchu published Satoru Takamiya’s Heaven’s Will, Yabuuchi’s Hitohira no Koi ga Furu and Hatsukoi Shinan (Instructions for First Love), Miyuki Ōbayashi’s Junai Sensation, Miwako Sugiyama’s Ai no Kotoba, Satoru Takamiya’s Kusuriyubi Hime, and Kiyoko Arai’s Yomogi Mochi Yake Ta? manga. Viz Media publishes the Pokémon and Heaven’s Will manga in North America.

Shogakukan launched its Shōgaku magazines in 1922, the same year that the company itself was founded. (Shogakukan literally means “elementary school building.”) At their peak in April (the start of the school year) of 1973, Shōgaku Gonensei printed 635,000 copies, and Shōgaku Rokunensei printed 460,000 copies. In recent years, the circulations of both magazines have fallen into the range of 50,000 to 60,000 copies. Shogakukan’s four magazines aimed at younger elementary school students—Shōgaku Ichinensei (Elementary First-Grader) through Shōgaku Yonnensei (Elementary Fourth-Grader)—will continue to be published.

ChuChu launched as a spinoff from Ciao and Shōjo Comic magazine’s editorial departments in August of 2008. ChuChu was revamped into a monthly magazine in its January 2006 issue in December of 2005. It had a print run of 180,000 at its launch, but it has been hovering around 50,000 copies recently.
