A linux distro for anime fans

This is got to be the perfect distro for me and I do plan on trying it when I have time. It is based on debian and ubuntu so should run the same programs that they run.
Here is what distro watch says about it.

Linux Mangaka is a desktop Linux distribution originally designed primarily for the fans of Japanese Manga and Anime, but eventually evolving into a complete, beginner-friendly operating system with complete multimedia support. Based on Ubuntu with GNOME and Google desktop, the distribution includes a large variety of programs for graphics design, many freely available Google applications, a number of games, and an innovative set of desktop themes.

Any way I can not wait to have time to try this out and make a review about it right here on my blog.

Phil Miller has announced the availability of the fourth alpha release of Chakra, a desktop distribution and live CD with KDE 4 based on Arch Linux: “Today we are pleased to announce the release of alpha 4, named ‘NewAge’, of our very own Chakra live media. A lot has changed since alpha 3. We have a new KDE 4 theme; Tribe can install custom mount points, and we did a ton of fixes. KDEmod got updated to version 4.3.3. Chakra hardware detection got stripped down to fit X.Org Server 1.7.1.901 package, so only NVIDIA drivers are the supported proprietary drivers for now. Distribution Release: Momonga Linux 6.1

Takaaki Tabuchi has announced the release of Momonga Linux 6.1, a Japanese community distribution modelled on Fedora. This is a minor bug-fix and security update to Momonga Linux 6 (released in July), containing minor kernel and application updates, with most of the base system remaining unchanged. Among the updated packages are Linux kernel 2.6.30.9, X.Org Server 1.6.5, KDE 4.3.2, OpenOffice.org 3.1.1, Firefox 3.5.5, Apache 2.2.14, Postfix 2.6.5, and Emacs 23.1. Some additional packages and hardware devices, such as KDE devinfo, iwl1000 and iwl6000 firmware, LXDE desktop and x3f-tools, were added to the distribution. Users running Momonga 6 can update to the latest version with yum, but upgrades from earlier versions are not supported. Patrick Verner has announced the release of Parted Magic 4.6, a specialist live CD designed for disk management and data rescue tasks: “Parted Magic 4.6 is a mostly a bug-fix release with some usability improvements. Development Release: MOPSLinux 7.0 Alpha 4

The fourth alpha release of MOPSLinux Linux a Russian desktop distribution based on Slackware Linux with up-to-date packages, is now available for testing. Some of the most important changes since alpha 3 include: update to Linux kernel 2.6.31.6 and glibc 2.11; support for Btrfs and NILFS2 file systems; KDE 4.3.3 and Qt 4.6-beta1; support for Pluggable Authentication Module (PAM); addition of OpenLDAP server; wxWidgets now work; fixed bug with installing distribution to hard disk other than first; the mpkg-core was split, now mpkgsupport and nwidgets are separate packages; finally solved problem with updating glibc with mpkg; wicd no longer needs to be restarted after each login. Ken Smith has announced the availability of the third and final release candidate for FreeBSD 8.0: “The third and hopefully last of the release candidates for the FreeBSD 8.0 release cycle is now available. Unless something catastrophic comes up within the next couple of days we will begin the final builds for 8.0-RELEASE. There is one known issue with the igb(4) driver we are still deciding whether or not to fix it as part of 8.0-RELEASE versus doing an errata notice for it some time after the release is out. It has been patched in head, and the SVN commit for it is r199192. If any of you are able to give that patch a try on a machine with the igb(4) NIC it would be appreciated.
