This is got to be the perfect distro for me and I do plan on trying it when I have time. It is based on debian and ubuntu so should run the same programs that they run.
Here is what distro watch says about it.

Linux Mangaka is a desktop Linux distribution originally designed primarily for the fans of Japanese Manga and Anime, but eventually evolving into a complete, beginner-friendly operating system with complete multimedia support. Based on Ubuntu with GNOME and Google desktop, the distribution includes a large variety of programs for graphics design, many freely available Google applications, a number of games, and an innovative set of desktop themes.

The developers web site is http://animesoft.wordpress.com/ , and here is a screen shot.

Any way I can not wait to have time to try this out and make a review about it right here on my blog.

A lot has changed since alpha 3. We have a new KDE 4 theme; Tribe can install custom mount points, and we did a ton of fixes. KDEmod got updated to version 4.3.3. Chakra hardware detection got stripped down to fit X.Org Server 1.7.1.901 package, so only NVIDIA drivers are the supported proprietary drivers for now. Most noticeable changes and additions since alpha 3: Linux kernel 2.6.31.6 with fglrx patch; Chakra tools updated (aqpm, shaman, chase); ATI Catalyst support temporarily dropped….” Here is the complete release announcement. Download: chakra-minimal-i686-091116-alpha4.iso (674MB, MD5), chakra-minimal-x86_64-091116-alpha4.iso (687MB, MD5).

This release is not about bleeding-edge technology. On the other hand, it is not about nostalgia either. KDE 3.5.10 gets the job done. It is a mature and solid product with a large user base. Many of us are comfortable with it, and are not yet ready to leave it behind. We thought it only right to make a robust system with KDE 3.5.10 at the helm. The classic text installer will quickly have you up and running with the expected KDE tools. The KOffice suite is fast and suitable for everyday word processing, spreadsheets and presentations. For ‘Momos’, the development had to take massive upstream changes for SysVInit, insserv, X.Org and device detection into account, but it also concentrated on furthering the KDE 4 integration into sidux and upgrading to Linux kernel 2.6.31. Subsequently, it is the first sidux release to ship without KDE 3 or Qt 3 packages. Linux kernel 2.6.31 doesn’t only improve and stabilise hardware support for newer devices, it also provides initial support for USB 3.0 devices and the Sound Blaster X-Fi sound card.” See the detailed release notes for further information. Download (mirrors, MD5): sidux-2009-03-kde-i386-amd64.iso (2,080MB), sidux-2009-03-xfce-i386.iso (487MB), sidux-2009-03-xfce-amd64.iso (494MB).
