It had funny parts as well as some very moving parts. Not going to give to much away as I do not want to spoil any thing for any one that has not seen it yet. It is based on the little mermaid so has some parallels to it but not many. I can probably mention this with out it spoiling it but the parallel is that a fish girl turns into a human. That does not spoil any things as it was mentioned in a few of the ads. Unlike the little mermaid she does not look like a mermaid she looks kind of like a red jelly fish with a human face. I give it a 5 our of 5 stars.

Between the 2 animes they do have some other similarities like the opening song sounds a lot a like but yet is different.  They both have Gorinova, not sure of the spelling on that but in slayers it is a sward and in slayers it is a ship, a lost ship.  Lost ships are like the Gods or demons of slayers, with the exception of one being a good one.

lost universe has a lot of action  and a very good story line. To bad they stopped making it as I really got into it and would love to see more I do also think the same about slayers though as they are both very good anime.

Another movie also in that 100 dvds I got was In a dark place. This movie was a lot like the movie first born, it actually felt a lot like the same movie. Only a few differences. Instead of 1 child it had 2 and these kids were not hers but kids she was baby sitting.  In both movies the main character goes nuts for one reason or another or actually many reasons that are pointed out in the movie. The ending had the same sort of surprise but done a little different.  This one also did not have all that great of reviews on imdb.com.  No time loops in this one though but it did have ghosts. Although they may have been in the girls head who was playing the baby sitter as no one else sees the ghosts.

The third movie on the list of bad movies is Petrified.  This movie should have been a horror but it was done very badly in my opinion. It had a mummy in it but was done so poorly you could see he was wearing a mask. It felt like a very old low to no budget film but with modern technology as it was actually made around 2006. I had to look up reviews about this one as well and it also had bad reviews even worse then the other 2 movies.  The story line if it even had one was not all that great.  It kind of felt like it was mixing a mummy movie with a mad scientist movie as they had 2 separate things going on.

I ended up watching this in only 2 days, well the first season any way.  I just could not stop watching it, I enjoyed it very much. It has humour very much like the humour in slayers which in my opinion makes it better.  Even though it has humour like that of slayers it is nothing like that anime. Although another interesting thing about comparing it to slayers is there is a part in Melancholy where some one says It is classified and said in the same way that the demon of slayers says it is a secret.

I do not wish to give to much away but it does have a lot of interesting things that happen in it. It has time travel, aliens, androids, girls in bunny suits, people  with ESP, and a godess that does not even know she is a godess.  Oh and when I first heard about this anime I thought it was one that was made for girls which is called shoujo, how ever I found it not to be shoujo but rather shounen which is for boys.  Watching this anime though I feel it is not made for either male or female but both. I mean it does not feel to me it was made exclusively for males as I liked it and I am female, heck and I was told about it from a girl who also likes it. Oh there are a few characters I feel sorry for because haruhi treats them.

A few more differences between the OVA + Movies and the Original series is Lina’s companion if you can call her that. Her companion is very under dressed sorceress named Naga.  Naga has a very annoying laugh, which is mentioend as being annoying in a few of the OVA’s and Movies.  Her laugh reminds me of the voice of Fran Dresche’s voice from the show called the Nanny although I c oulc not watch The Nanny because unlike Naga’s voice Fran’s Voice made my ears hurt. Another view on her voice is like trying to listen to nails on a chalk board.

I will admit the OVA + Movies were much more comedy  based then the original series making it a whole lot more funny. There was one of the movies that was so funny I about fell out of my chair laughing. It was the movie called Slayers Great. It was both cute and funny and I enjoyed that one the most out of all of them.

Unlike the original series you can watch this out of order. What happens in one does not effect what happens in the other. I did how ever watch them in order.  Do to the name of the last OVA show I thought it was about Lina getting the outfit she wears in the Original series proving that it takes place before the Series how ever I think I was wrong but would have been neat if it was.

I did find out after seeing both the first 3 of the original series, OVA and movies that there is still one more out there called the lost universe. How ever I am not yet able to find that one for sale but just happened to find it while looking for the picture for this review.  I am hopping to find that last series and watch it and also make a review of it.

I do think over all that the Original was better even though this was more funny. I give both 4 out of 5 stars.

I started watching the first season a few weeks ago in my spare time and I just kept getting pulled in and watching to keep watcvhing it even though I needed to get a few things done. Like the anime database that I have been working on or even working on this blog.  The Slayers has all kinds of content both comedy and action and even adventure.  You never really know what will happen next, which is what I like. It is hard to tell some times who the bad guys are and who the good guys are and some times finding out can be a surprise and that is some thing hapening tell the very end.  I enjoyed the ending of all 3 seasons and I have to say they had a good story line for each.  On the second season they had a cheractor that sounded and acted just like the lady on pokemon that is on team rocket which was both funny and strange at the same time.  the series had dragons, monsters, demons, Gods and so many other creatures it just kept you entertained and guessing on what you would see next.  One of the episodes in the last season reminded me of another anime called Abenobashi, which kind of confused me but was pretty funny.

I can not wait to start watching the movies and the ova versions which I will be doing soon.

I greatly enjoyed it and found it had action through out the whole movie which I like as it means not boring parts. The visual of it reminded me a bit of the Final Fantasy movie which is computer generated and even though it does not look like a traditional anime it has great visual effects.

The anime takes place far into the future (2077) ten years after Japan cute them selves off from the rest of the world do to not agreeing with robotics laws the UN wanted them to follow. The movie plays out with an organization called S.W.O.R.D that tries to find out what Japan is up to by infiltrating Japan. I do not wish to get into to much detail as to not ruin it for you but they do find out what Japan is up to and you will have to watch it to find out what.

The Blue are insect like and are thought to be an alien race, how ever unknown about how they got to earth and why they are on earth. There are a few reasons for the blue mentioned through out the series and it appears to me the reason in the movie differs from the reason in the series. One of the reasons mentioned or thought is they were sent to earth by aliens to destroy the human race and take over the planet. Another reason mentioned is they were created by man but got out of control and started to take over the earth and destroy the human race. Another reason that comes up is  they were created by nature to put an end to the over population of the human race.  I might be able to mention more reasons but I do want you to watch it and find out which is correct or maybe a combination of them are correct. I do not wish to ruin it for you how ever.

The anime starts out in a cryogenics facility were solders are trying to recover sleepers in order to take back with them to second earth. By accident one of the sleepers gets woken up, the sleeper being scared out of his mind tried to run away to find him self surrounded by the blue. One of the solders saves his life and from there it goes through their journey to get to second earth, space station were humans are hiding from the blue. Many things happen to them along the way, most of which I was not expecting and I do like when an show or movie is unpredictable and this does have a lot of unpredictable part to it. they do make it back to second earth and more is found out about the sleepers and why they were woken up and a whole lot more unexpected parts come up and a lot more action.

This is not for kids as it does have nudity, a lot of violence, and some sexual content. the movie does not have the nudity or sexual content but does still have the violence. Even though it does have sexual content and nudity this is not a porn and it is not intended to be.

I did enjoy this movie even though I am not a huge fan of violent movies or shows. Below is the plot summary if you wish to learn more.

Plot Summary: Yuji Kaido was diagnosed with a serious disease and cryogenically frozen. He wakes up more than 20 years later–and Earth is nothing like what he remembers. A race of alien bugs called the Blue have taken over the planet, and a few select humans have retreated to the space station Second Earth. Yuji is taken back to Second Earth, where he learns that he and the other sleepers will be instrumental in defeating the Blue. And his relationship with one member of the recovery squad only serves to complicate things.

As mentioned above it does have a lot of funny parts and it does, for parts of it I was laughing so hard I about fell off my chair. Considering it is a kids cartoon I enjoyed it and I think kids will enjoy it too. I do hope my sisters kids enjoy it and maybe even learn some thing from it.

I almost for got to mention it is very cute too. Even though it is cute and is for both boys and girls and I bet both would like it.

In 2001 Sitting Ducks was produced by Creative Capers Entertainment and Kristlin/Elliott Digital. It ran for two seasons and during that time spawned merchandise such as toys, clothing, books, as well as a a video game.

The show takes place in a town called Ducktown and focuses on a duck named Bill, and his best friend Aldo, a huge alligator from the neighboring town of Swampwood. Seeing as how ducks are favorite snacks of the alligators there, Bill and Aldo’s friendship is rather unusual. The pair usually end up in various situations and adventures.

I purchased the left behind box set which includes 4 dvds 3 being the movies and 1 being a documentary about the movies. The reason I purchased this box set was I had seen some thing about it on a Christian site I was looking at and it looked interesting.

Left behind is about those who are left behind after millions are taken up to heaven by GOD. It goes through a few peoples lives that are left behind and how some that are left behind are finding Christ and try to save as many lives as they can. It also contains the antichrist who tries to make one world government and one world religion.

After watching all 3 dvds in this box set it does make me wonder how close we are to some thing like this actually happening and how much like this it will be. I assume it will be different but not sure how much different. Although from my understanding the AntiChris will have a some sort of prophet that will lead his way and try and get other to follow him and I do not remember that in this series.

There was a small video I watched before getting these dvds that had a story line very much like this although shortened and went even farther to and went into Jesus coming back in destroying the antichris and all those who followed him. I think it was on a site called amazing facts, I might be wrong as I stumbled on it doing google search for some Christian videos.

I do want to mention this is a fictional movie, even though it is a Christian movie. I did also greatly enjoy watching it and do recommend it to any one who likes things about the end time or dramas.

For those who are wondering I am Christian but I do not push my believes on to people as I have seen where pushing some one into some thing causes them to push away more then actually following what you are tying to push them into. I also feel we should lead others by our actions not by our words, which is one reason I am or try to be kind and caring to every one around me as thats my way of being Christian although I do feel I fall short of what GOD wants of me.

Any way even though this anime is marked as a yuri it is still good and a lot of times in the different eposides it did state how wrong it is to be dating some one of the same gender although it was also stated it should be ok as hazumu was male and is not female so should be ok for her to date a girl. I am unsure if that is wrong or not but it does make sense and it was not really his choice to be a girl it was an accident.

One of the things I loved about this anime besides for the very strong emotions was that it showed how important love is to have. Not sexual love but love of the heart. The kind of love that every one needs. It was very touching and moving on how they showed how important that is.

I remember thinking how embarrassing I was to have purchased a yuri anime as I am not yuri my self. How ever there was nothing sexual in this anime except for a few hinted at perverted things by some of the male characters but nothing really bad. Infact I think a show called Two and a Half men have more sexual and perverted stuff then this. Well thats probably not the best example as that is very perverted in my opinion. Probably a better example of a show or movie that is more perverted is a show called smallville, which actually does not have that much in it either so it is probably the best example that I can think of. Oh and yes I like smallville.

Last week I was searching ebay for box sets of anime as I wanted to get some new anime. I found several that were in my price range and that looked interesting to watch. I ended up getting KASHIMASHI Girl Meets Girl. Entire Series DVD BOX, Tokyo Mew Mew Complete Set, KALEIDO STAR new wings dvd true collection NEW box set, KALEIDO STAR amazing collection dvd box set,

KASHIMASHI Girl Meets Girl is one I bought with out reading the description the cover that was on ebay made it looked very cute so that is why I got it and actually why I got most of the dvd’s listed above. Although after ordering it I talked to a few people on twitter and other sites and got a bit embarrassed when I found out it was a yuri and not just a romance love story like I was thinking. Although thinking about it I guess I should have guessed it was a yuri by the name.  It is about a girl and a boy that fell in love but the boy gets turned into a girl but the love between them continues.

I went ahead and started watching it and it is romantic and heart warming. I have only seen the first 3 episodes and part of the 4th so far but thought I would write a blog entry for what I think so far. This may be a spoiler so just keep that in mind as I do not wish to spoil it for any one that may want to watch it.

The first episode starts out with Hazumu and Yazuna and it shows how they fall in love but when Hazumu asks Yazuma out she turns him down. He was saddened and ran away and went to were they met, which was a garden in the middle of a forest. He wandered out farther then that and while he was wandering around a space ship, an alien space ship crashed into him. The aliens took what was left of him aboard and put him back to gather how ever when they did so they made him into a female.

My own thoughts on why they may have made him into a female specially a genetic female is he may have always been genetically female. I mean he was physically a male but I have seen medical shows where some one is physically male while genetically female or even physically female and genetically male. the last one seems to be more common from what I have seen on medical shows how ever. Any way in watching this anime It makes me think he was always supposed to be female. He acted female and even in the 4th episode he says while yazuna was holding a dress she was giving him. He said he always wanted a dress like that. It was a very pretty dress with flowers on it. He did look very pretty in it and he does not even mind being turned into a girl as he says he is still him despite looking different.

There are parts of this anime that actually made me cry and the yazuna reminds me of me. Specially when she explains why she turned down hazumu. She explained she was scared but she does love him and still does in spite of him now being female. To get back into how she reminds me of me is I have turned guys down do to being scared and yes I was in love with them. I do not wish to hurt their feelings and neither did yasuna in this anime as she felt bad for thinking she hurt Hazumu’s feelings.

There is a part in this anime that reminds me of the anime called ranma and thats Hazumu’s father, Hazumu’s father is one of them perverted guys like the grandpa on ranma. That is one of the humor part of this anime but I honestly think they could have left it out as like some one on a forum I saw about this anime it can ruin it having to much perverted stuff in it.

In spite of this being yuri, I am enjoying watching it.

Cyborg 009 is about 9 cyborgs who free them selves from a evil master mind called black ghost. One of the scientists who helped create them aids them in their escape and takes them to live with one of his friends who also is a scientist.

After they escape They are tracked down by other 00 cyborgs each one more power full then the last and you slowly learn more about the past of each of the 00 cyborgs. They also learn to work as a team and better them selves.

It shows how passionate people can be and how a simple note written just before the end of life can touch so many lives in a good way. A very simple note with a very simple message as well. The journey to try and find the person the note was for warms the heart of many.

It seems I am rambling on about this movie or even saying the same thing in more way then one. This movie did not only touch the lives of those in it but mine as well which is why I started to cry.

My rating for this movie is 10 out of 10 as I loved it.

If you want to see a touching and heart warming movie I suggest watching this. ^_^
