I usually try to stay optimistic and positive as its the best way to be. This week has not been all that great.
Monday was good had a good day at work and had nice chats on twitter. Although there was one issue that I had which was when members contacted me as another member spammed a link to any anime site all over my site, He PM’ed people, emailed some. I am a nice lady so I went over to the site and told them some one was spamming links to their site on mine.
Today I wake up to an email from abuse @ mddhosting.com which would be from my host or at least the one otakuplayground.com is on. It was not some thing I took lightly but did look into it. I looked at the attachment in the email to see what the original email looked like as I was worried it was about the spamming that took place Monday. Nope was not about the spammer that spammed my site on Monday. This was an automated email generated by my site as one of my members in kindness had welcomed a new member to the site. I was stunned that some one would report a welcome message. I thought about it a minute and thought well maybe some one registered using some one Else’s email address. So I compared the IP’s in the abuse email with the members IP and they were only 1 number different. So that idea may not be correct although could be some one with in the same area using the same IP.
Any way after a while I looked into both issues as I thought once again they might be related some how and what I found was the email used for the account that spammed on my site is the same one that reported the abuse email. Which stunned me even more. I had no idea people would be that evil, specially when only kindness is shown to them.
